Web and Mobile Application Testing

Kritika Murari recently posted an interesting article about the differences between mobile and web applications testing. With rapid growth of the smartphone market, mobile applications became more popular than ever, with many companies trying to catch-up and release their own apps.

It is important to remember the variations in testing of mobile and web applications, which have to be implemented in order to ensure the products’ high functionality and quality. The goal of web applications testing is to check its ability to run across a variety of browsers and ensure that it works as intended, furthermore web applications don’t have to be downloaded to work. Whereas, mobile applications testing includes ensuring that the app is functional on a small mobile device, as well as that it can run on different operating systems and can be downloaded from a store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store).

It is incredibly interesting how quickly technology progresses and how adaptive developers and testers have to be. Both teams have many specifications to consider during the creating and testing processes, therefore it is easy to miss some smaller errors. This highlights the importance of appropriate collaboration between the teams and ensuring the highest quality of the product with consideration of appropriate platform which the application will reach.

I believe that the popularity of mobile applications is going to keep increasing and more businesses will consider its usage, especially taking into account how easily accessible they are for the user.

There is a lot of potential in this area, and certain mobile applications can have a great impact on the user needs.

Mobile application testing and web application testing are essential to ensure an app’s quality.
